Le 18 août 2019 en Islande, une plaque commémorative a été inaugurée en l’honneur d'Okjökull (officiellement déclassé en 2014), premier glacier disparu sur l'ile subarctique.Le monument A letter to the future a été érigé sur le site de l’ancien glacier marquant le premier constat funeste dû aux changements climatiques dans le monde. Sur cette plaque en lettre dorée, on peut voir la mention 415 ppm CO2, en référence au niveau record de concentration de dioxyde de carbone enregistré dans l’atmosphère en mai 2019. Selon les chercheurs et les scientifiques, l’Islande perd environ onze milliards de tonnes de glace chaque année.
Ceux-la aussi craignent la disparition de 400 glaciers sur l’île d’ici deux cents ans si les émissions de gaz à effet de serre se poursuivent au rythme actuel.
Le corpus photographique JÖKULL est un hommage au sublime, aux glaciers d'Islande avec leurs failles, cicatrices, tourbillons, moulins et crevasses. Les différentes vues des glaciers sont érigées sous la lune et les ciels étoilés de l'ile pour une invitation à la contemplation et la rêverie. Ce travail contribue ainsi de manière poétique à la mémoire des glaciers.

The different points of view are shown under the moon and the starry skies of the island for an invitation to contemplation and dreaming.
