CHLOÉ JAFÉ

Chloé Jafé est une photographe française, né à Lyon en 1984.

Diplômée de l’école de Condé. Elle a poursuivi sa formation de photographe au studio Pin-up à Paris, puis au Central Saint-Martins College of Art de Londres. Après avoir travaillé au bureau de Magnum Photos de Londres en 2013, elle emménage à Tokyo en 2014. Elle y fait la rencontre d’un chef yakuza de Tokyo qui l’autorise à photographier son quotidien pendant six ans. Chloé Jafé donne une place prépondérante aux gestes et aux corps souvent tatoués dont elle prolonge parfois les motifs hors du cadre de l’image.

Chloé Jafé is a French photographer, born in Lyon in 1984.

Graduated of the Condé School, She continued her training as a photographer at the Pin-up studio in Paris, then at the Central Saint-Martins College of Art in London. After working in the London office of Magnum Photos in 2013, she moves to Tokyo in 2014 where she had the chance to meet with the head of a Yakuza group. During 6 years, she photographed the daily life of this group. Gestures and often tattooed bodies are central in Chloé’s pictures, and she sometimes goes beyond the frame of the image to enhance her point.
