Motohashi Seiichi est un photographe et réalisateur japonais né en 1940 à Tokyo.

Photographe prolifique, social et humaniste, il documente inlassablement depuis les années 1960 la diversité et les combats des hommes et tout particulièrement ceux des classes populaires. Son travail engagé lui rapportera le Domon Ken Award en 1998.

Depuis 2011, Motohashi Seiichi oriente sa camera sur une communauté chrétienne vivant en auto-suffisance dans une vieille maison nichée au creux des montagnes du Nagano. Il continue en parallèle à se rendre régulièrement à Chernobyl.

Motohashi Seiichi is a Japanese photographer and filmmaker born in Tokyo in 1940. A prolific photographer with an eye for social and humanist issues, he has returned time and again since the 1960s to the questions of diversity and human struggle, particulary in the working classes. He won the Domon Ken Award in 1998 with its definite point of view.

Since 2011, Motohashi Seiichi has turned his camera onto a Christian community living a self-sufficient existence in an old house in the remote reaches of the Nagano mountains. He also continues to travel regularly to Chernobyl.
