After the photographer Daido Moriyama’s first travel to Hokkaido in the 1960’s he started to document their archipelago life. He was returning to the cities of the island until 2010 creating a photographic explorative journey. After the Second World War, Moriyama wasn’t able to photograph in Japan as the country was full of conflict. Therefore by accident he found Hokkaido and fell in love with it. Hokkaido contrasts the melancholy and everyday life of a rural society. Daido Moriyama was born in 1938 in Osaka and has obtained a worldwide reputation with his unique photography.

Après le premier voyage du photographe Daido Moriyama à Hokkaido dans les années 1960, il a commencé à documenter la vie de leur archipel. Il retourna dans les villes de l'île jusqu'en 2010, créant un voyage exploratoire photographique. Après la Seconde Guerre mondiale, Moriyama n’a pas pu photographier au Japon car le pays était plein de conflits. Par conséquent, par accident, il a trouvé Hokkaido et en est tombé amoureux. Hokkaido oppose la mélancolie et la vie quotidienne d'une société rurale. Daido Moriyama est né en 1938 à Osaka et a acquis une réputation mondiale grâce à sa photographie unique.
