HITOMI WATANABE

Hitomi Watanabe est une photographe japonaise, née en 1939. 

En 1968 elle sort diplômée du Tokyo College of Photography. Son exposition de fin d'études était "World of the Street Hawkers", qui a été complétée par d'autres travaux et publiée dans les magazines "Shashin Graphic" et "Shashin Eizo". Elle est connue pour avoir photographié les rues de Shinjuku, puis s'est engagée dans le mouvement étudiant Zen-kyoto.

En 1972, Hitomi commence à voyager en Asie, elle visite notamment l'Inde et le Népal et décide d'y rester. Depuis son retour au Japon, sa photographie est essentiellement un document spirituel en tant que message aux "Esprits vivants".

Hitomi Watanabe is a Japanese photographer, born in 1939. 

1968 Graduated from Tokyo College of Photography. Graduating exhibition was “World of the Street Hawkers”, which was extended with further work and published in “Shashin Graphic” and “Shashin Eizo” magazines. Photographed the streets of Shinjuku, and then became involved with the Zen-kyoto student movement.

In 1972, she Began travels through Asia. Visited India and Nepal and, finding it the home of my soul, decided to remain. Since returning to Japan, my photography has been essentially a spiritual document as a message to “Living Spirits”.
