VERNISSAGE 07.09,2022 / 6-9PM

On the Shore of a Vanishing Island is a series by Korean photographer Daesung Lee. It presents photographs taken on Ghoramara Island, that is soon-to-disapear under the rising tides. Lee's photographs show us how global warming is already impacting human lives. The continually receding shore and vanishing vegetation leave behind a coast of sediment holding an ironic beauty of its own amid the increasingly barren shores.

By juxtaposing the portraits with the landscapes of the vanishing island, Lee creates unrealistic pictures that pays a gentle tribute to the people and the land.
