We are delighted to welcome Natalie Malisse for the launch of her first book La grande maison.

La grande maison is a photographic project that takes a retrospective look at domestic violence. It puts into images the fragments of memory that populate the artist's nightmares, the better to tame "the night [that] brings us back to the memories that our days strive to forget". The black-and-white photographs and brief texts track down the mute shadows and invisible wounds of childhood in her father's house: objects and bodies, strange sculptures, become the almost abstract receptacles of inner anguish, but also breathes of consolation.

Natalie Malisse (1998) is a Belgian photographer. Her project "La grande maison" was selected in 2023 as part of the festival Circulation(s).

Nous avons le plaisir d'accueillir Natalie Malisse pour le lancement de son premier livre La grande maison. 

La grande maison est un projet photographique qui pose un regard rétrospectif sur la violence intrafamiliale. Il met en images les fragments de mémoire peuplant les cauchemars de l’artiste, pour mieux apprivoiser “la nuit [qui] nous ramène aux souvenirs que nos jours s’efforcent d’oublier”. Les photographies en noir et blanc et les textes brefs traquent les ombres muettes et les blessures invisibles de l’enfance dans la maison paternelle : objets et corps, étranges sculptures, deviennent le réceptacle presque abstrait des déchirements intérieurs, mais aussi des souffles de consolation.

Natalie Malisse (1998) est une photographe belge. Son projet “La grande maison” a été sélectionné en 2023 dans le cadre du festival Circulation(s).
