OPENING
In the presence of the photographer

We present, in a two-part exhibition – Part 1: From Dawn to Dusk and Part 2: From Dusk to Dawn – a 24-hour journey into the tragicomic universe of Leo Berne, which, unlike the angle adopted in his book For the Aliens (published in 2016), here addresses our humanity.

Collecting selected moments from his daily life, photographing at the whim of his encounters and his wanderings without distinction of cameras, films, embracing the imperfection sometimes brought by the analogue, Leo Berne transports us by the flow of his images to the heart of his intimacy. The desire to save a moment, a color, a sound, a feeling, small wonders, becomes an image that joins the great photographic album of his life.

We are presenting a two-part exhibition – From Dawn to Dusk and From Dusk to Dawn – a 24-hour journey through Leo Berne's tragi-comic universe.

Unlike his book For the Aliens , published in 2016, in these works the photographer addresses the issue of what makes us profoundly human beings.

Collecting chosen moments from his daily life, shooting encounters and peregrinations with no set camera or film type, embracing the imperfection which sometimes arises from the use of photographic film, Leo Berne lets his cascade of images draw us into his innermost recesses. The desire to preserve a moment in time, a color, a sound, a feeling, the wonderful little images of life: all these contribute to the great photographic album of his life.
