Maryam Khosrovani

Born in Tehran in 1981, Maryam Khosrovani is an Iranian conceptual artist, graphic designer, and teacher. Maryam grew up in an art-loving family with close ties to many great artists, including Farideh Lashai, who was her first major artistic influence. Her work focuses on research projects that explore social issues related to her childhood spent between different cultures and her personal experiences. Her work generally takes the form of installations. She received her Master's degree in Art Direction and Graphic Design in 2011 from ESAG Penninghen at the Académie Julien in Paris. Maryam gained experience working with famous graphic designers such as Reza Abedini, SARL LM Communiquer, and Michel Bouvet's graphic design studio in Tehran and Paris. She has worked with several renowned theater directors, musicians, and academics around the world.

Maryam presented her first solo exhibition, "Incubus, Succubus, Pendulus: The Secret Rules of Gravity," at Aun Gallery in Tehran, Iran, where she received widespread media and public acclaim. Throughout her career, she has exhibited at New York galleries such as Elga Wimmer and Rogue Space Chelsea, Somerset House Photo in London, Hamzianpour & Kia Gallery in Los Angeles, and La Nuit Blanche 2023 in Paris, and has been featured in BBC News, the New York Times, and The Guardian.

Maryam currently lives and works between Paris and New York. In June 2024, she will be awarded the François Schneider Foundation Prize.
