Sakiko Nomura

Exhibited and published today in different corners of the world, Sakiko Nomura is a Japanese photographer born in 1967. She comes from Shimonoseki, a city located in Yamaguchi Prefecture in Japan.

After graduating from Kyushu Sangyo University in 1990 with a degree in photography and imaging arts, she began training with Japanese photography master Nobuyoshi Araki. Nomura presented her first exhibition U hr ohne Zeiger. in 1993.

She will continue to present solo exhibitions, but she will also participate in group exhibitions in Europe as well as in Tokyo, and more widely in Asia. Her photobook published in 2013, Nude/a Room/Flowers , won the Sagamihara New Professionals Award. In 2015, she represented Japan at the exhibition Another Language at the Arles Photographic Encounters Festival. In 2017, Nomura won the New Photographer Award at the Higashikawa International Festival with his photobook Another Black Darkness . Today, Nomura is considered one of the most promising active photographers.
