This issue marks the 54th edition of Daido Moriyama's ongoing "Record" series. After the first five issues were published in 1972, Moriyama revived this series of photography books in 2006, providing a regular outlet for his artistic expression.

For this particular issue, Moriyama focused on locations in and around Tokyo, capturing snapshots of urban scenes, passersby and tourists, as well as images of desolate-looking buildings that serve as both subject and backdrop. He also explored metal structures and glimpses of local nightlife, while including a few more personal images, such as a photo of Masahisa Fukase or a souvenir board.
