Gerry Johansson began his career as a freelance photographer in the mid-1980s and is now known for his calm, exquisitely composed images with a distinctive visual signature.

This work, "Ehime," is literally a series of photographs of Ehime Prefecture. Johansson visited Tokyo once in the 1970s and 1980s and became very interested in both Japan and Tokyo. He was invited to stay in 1999, and when he landed in Ehime Prefecture, he was surprised by the distance from Tokyo, but was drawn to the blend of nature and modern life. During his stay, Johansson traveled to every corner of Ehime Prefecture for a month and took photographs.

So far, the works created in Ehime Prefecture have been published in several books, but this is the first time they have been collected in a single work.
