"HK:PM, Hong Kong Night Life 1974-1989" focuses on the city I discovered as a young photographer and where I lived for fifteen years. During my time in Hong Kong, particularly in the 1970s and 1980s, I rarely saw photographs that showed the Hong Kong I knew and loved. Especially the less glamorous parts of the city at night. The only visual references that came close were mainly in Hong Kong gangster films of the time. So I tried to make pictures of what the city looked like and felt like: on the streets, in bars and clubs, wandering the alleys between buildings, and making my way across the rooftops. Unseen for 30 years, I am delighted that they are finally available in this new book about the city that allowed me to get my start as a photographer."
