Michiko Kon is a contemporary Japanese artist of striking originality. Her exploration of the photographic still life, in which perishable materials such as raw fish, poultry, and vegetables are paired with familiar, often feminine objects—a schoolgirl's uniform, high-heeled shoes, a wallet—triggers our senses of touch, taste, and smell through vision and imagination. Kon Box features 40 of the artist's most powerful works. This series of 6 x 6-inch duotone cards is accompanied by essays in English and Japanese by Peter Bunnell and Kohtaro Iizawa. This first edition is limited to 1,000 copies.
