"Eroma, Monochroma" is a collection of photographs by renowned Japanese photographer Nobuyoshi Araki. This book gathers snapshots of Rome taken during his 2007 visit for the "Araki Gold" exhibition at the Istituto Nazionale per la Grafica in Rome. Araki has published numerous photography books inspired by his visits to exhibitions abroad, including in Vienna, Shanghai, Taipei, and New York. This book presents photographs of the exhibitions and photo shoots that appear to have taken place simultaneously. It also includes monochrome snapshots, Polaroids, and color images. Araki's spontaneous shots range from decorative monuments and historical sites to the cobblestone streets of Rome, as well as intimate nudes in hotels with his partner. Contrary to the wordplay in the title, this book evokes the poetic atmosphere of the historic city of Rome.
