Born to a Japanese mother and a Swiss father, David Favrod lived most of his life in Switzerland with his mother. Thanks to her he will remain in contact with his Japanese traditions. In Gaijin Omoide Poroporo Hikari, he immerses us in the story of his quest for identity through the photos of his travels and the various stories his mother told him during his childhood. A quest that led him to apply for dual nationality at the age of 18. This was refused and gave him the idea for the title of this book: Gaijin meaning foreigner in Japanese.
