Symphony II marks a new chapter in Nobuo Iida's photographic work, with more than 40 previously unseen images. After exploring the poetry of flowers in Symphony ; this second book broadens its scope to include other forms of plant life, such as grass, roots, or even spider webs.
Iida's approach remains deeply rooted in his connection to light and nature, a journey that began after the 2011 earthquake in Japan. This pivotal moment led him to develop a unique technique, using "unsuitable" lenses to reveal hidden particles of light and create images where plants and light merge in a visual alchemy imbued with mysticism and joy.
In In Symphony II , he continues this exploration with photographs that invite the viewer on a dreamlike journey. Lines blur, colors blend, and each image reveals an ephemeral beauty while celebrating the diversity of the plant world.
True to her artisanal approach, Iida does not modify her images with software, relying instead on handmade filters and an intuitive mastery of light.
