    “This summer, I showed my 3-year-old niece My Neighbor Totoro , a film by Hayao Miyazaki. It was her first time watching it, and she was completely captivated by the screen. Having grown up with Miyazaki's films, I'm always amazed by his artistry. His work is filled with sensory elements, sensations that have resonated with me for so long.
    This got me thinking: if I could take over his work and pass it on through my own experience to the next generation through photography, what would that look like?
    This question inspired my photography theme this summer, creating images of my hometown in Japan that I plan to share with my niece. I hope to show her these photos again when she turns 33, my age today.
